aLife provides many services, apart from direct counselling, including a practical approach with assistance like child care arrangement or financial assistance.

• Counselling Assistance:
Our volunteer counsellors employ a three-stage process comprising exploration, understanding and action, using the basic counselling skills of attending and active listening.

• Public Education:
aLife reaches out to the larger community in general through regular talks on family life, relationship and sexuality issues, and pregnancy-related topics in schools, polytechnics, universities, libraries and community centers.

• Caterpillar Club:
Caterpillar Club was launched in June 2007. It is a children’s enrichment program which aims to:
– Strengthen character, identity and resilience.
– enhance the child’s self-esteem and help him/her develop desirable social habits.
– equip the child with necessary life skills which will benefit him/her in adulthood.
– improve his/her literacy and language skills.
It caters to children aged 4-12 from low income families. We get support from organisations like Boy’s Brigade and the Central CDC.

Since we started, we have managed to help many clients work through difficult situations through financial and social assistance and counselling services. aLife’s clinic averages 20 clients per month.
