AWWA is a social service agency, serving over 16,000 persons across life-stages yearly. AWWA is Singapore-based, with an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) status.
 
Company Overview
AWWA is dependent on public donations to fund and provide quality services and programmes.

We are a full member of the National Council of Social Service(NCSS) and an approved Institution of Public Character(IPC) that is authorised to receive tax-deductible donations.

It all started in 1970 with a group of women volunteers who had been donating and distributing food rations in Little India to help out the needy families and decided to set up an association and registered themselves.

Today AWWA enhances the lives of over 6,000 clients each year, ranging from infancy to old age.

• Children and youths with special needs
• Persons with disabilities
• Underprivileged families
• Elderly in need of support
• Caregivers

Our services
• Education & Development – Early Intervention & Special Education for children and youths with special needs

• Disability Support – Counselling, Therapy and Community Integration

• Health & Senior Care – Senior Community Home, Rehabilitation and Dementia Day Care

• Family & Caregiver Support – Counselling, Academic & Vocation Support, After-School Care and Support Groups.

 
Awards
2014 – First NGO to be shortlisted as one of the finalists for HRM Award 2014, one of the most prestigious and important awards for the local HR industry.

2012 – AWWA was conferred with the inaugural President’s Award for Volunteerism(Non-Profit)

1995 – Won the Family & Resource Training Centre (FRTC) Innovative Programme.

1986 -The Handicapped Children’s Playgroup received the UN Community Excellence Award.
